Maintenance Director for Senior Living Apartment

Sycamore Independent Senior Living Community is looking for an energetic Maintenance Director who will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of maintenance, repairs, and upkeep within the community. This role involves ensuring the safety, comfort, and functionality of the physical environment for senior residents while maintaining compliance with regulatory standard and collaborate with other departments to provide a high quality of life for residents.

Responsibilities:

1. Maintenance Oversight:

- Coordinate and perform routine inspections of facilities, identifying areas that require repairs or improvements.

- Manage preventative maintenance schedules for equipment, systems, and facilities to ensure longevity and efficiency.

- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, resolving issues in a timely manner, and positive work environment that promotes teamwork and professional growth.

- Maintain an organized inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.

2. Safety and Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, building codes, and health and safety standards.

- Conduct regular safety training for maintenance staff and address any potential hazards promptly.

3. Resident Relations:

- Interact with senior residents in a respectful and courteous manner, addressing their maintenance concerns promptly.

- Provide exceptional customer service, demonstrating empathy and understanding of residents' needs.

4. Documentation and Reporting:

- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment maintenance histories.

- Generate regular reports on departmental performance, project statuses, and budget utilization.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in facilities maintenance is preferred.

- HVAC certified

- Plumbing experience 

- Proven experience in facilities maintenance.

- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a hands-on approach to tasks.

- Knowledge of building systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance practices.

- HVAC Type 2 Certification and R-410A Certified Preferred

- Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards.

- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Proficiency in computer Microsoft software for record-keeping and reporting.

- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies as needed.
